A TRIBUTE LETTER TO DOUG WEBSTER (February 1944 – December 1, 2013)
| Dear Doug:We didn’t get a chance to tell you in person, but it is very important to us that you know. You blew into our world here at KANDY Outdoor Flooring, brought your wisdom and experience, and then you left us again, way too soon. We are sad about that.But we are thankful, too. Thankful that you shared your time with us. Thankful that you shared your expertise with us.Thankful that you helped coordinate our recent product development trip to Shanghai, lending your knowledge of the region, the language and culture, and the manufacturing industry there, to us.
We’re very thankful you and your lovely wife Rose helped set up meetings with the right people in China, and that you accompanied us to those meetings and interpreted for us. You know that we simply couldn’t have done it without you. Your generousity was amazing. You have made such a positive impact on us, and on our business. You saved us time and trouble, and you helped us successfully navigate a significant importing process. The Rotarian in you was evident, always, as you exemplified Rotary’s “Four-Way Test”. Because you lived this Rotarian code, your alignment with KANDY’s core values was seamless. We knew you were special, with a unique set of skills and experience that were just what we needed. We feel blessed to have had this time with you. And we want you to know you will remain a very important person in the growth of our brand and our culture. Farewell, Doug. |
